這裡為南部杜氏（釀酒）的發源地，町內的四個釀酒廠仍持續釀造地方酒，還活用當地特產–葡萄，生產自園自釀（自己栽種自己釀造）的葡萄酒。當地的志和稻荷神社因敬奉保佑五穀豐收、漁業豐收及交通安全的守護神，而吸引許多參拜者來訪，神社境內樹齡高達1,000年的古杉樹屹立，匯集許多民眾的信仰。
